Glenwood, Md. – Rainy conditions throughout the day did little to slow the scoring at the 70th Maryland Pro-Amateur Championship, as 52 professional-amateur teams held on Monday, July 6, at Cattail Creek Country Club.

The championship format paired one PGA Professional with one amateur golfer in an 18-hole stroke play competition, with teams battling wet conditions in pursuit of the title.

Jon Moles, PGA, of Worthington Manor Golf Club and Keegan Boone (a) of Bethesda Country Club emerged as champions after carding a nine-under-par 62. The duo combined for seven birdies and an eagle to finish two strokes clear of the field and capture the 70th Maryland Pro-Amateur Championship.

Glenn McCloskey, PGA, of Loudoun Golf & Country Club and Daniel Park (a) of Argyle Country Club claimed runner-up honors at seven-under-par 64. Their round featured five birdies and an eagle, leaving them two shots behind the champions.

Rounding out the top three, Yong Joo, PGA, and Shaun Deering (a), both of TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, carded a six-under-par 65. The duo recorded six birdies en route to a third-place finish.

The MSGA would like to thank the staff and membership of Cattail Creek Country Club for their hospitality and support in hosting the 70th Maryland Pro-Amateur Championship.
