Am I a member of an MSGA Member Club?
The majority of our events require a golfer to be a member of an MSGA Member Club. Member clubs include private and public golf courses as well as clubs without real estate. To view a list of Member Clubs click here.
Are practice rounds available prior to championships?
Practice rounds are at the discretion of the host club. Additional information regarding fees and restrictions for practice rounds can be found on the tournament information page. Please contact the club directly to schedule a practice round time, do not just show up.
Can I make a group or starting time request?
You may request an “early starting time” or a “late starting time” and the MSGA will do its best to honor your request, but there are no guarantees. To make a request, email at support@msga.org.
Are distance measuring devices allowed?
Yes, distance measuring devices are allowed as long as they do not measure slope or wind Rule 4.3a(1) & 4.3a(2).
Penalty for Breach of Rule 4.3a(1):
- Penalty for first breach from single act or related acts: General Penalty
Match Play – Loss of hole; Stroke Play – Two strokes. - Penalty for second breach unrelated to first breach: Disqualification
Does the MSGA post tournament scores?
The MSGA will post your tournament scores to your handicap account after the last day of competition for the following events:
- Women’s Mid-Amateur
- Girls’ Junior
- Senior Amateur
For all other events, players are responsible for posting their own score. For more information on how to properly post your score, please click here.
