The active posting season in Maryland and Washington D.C. ended on November 30. The active season will resume on March 15, 2024.

The Maryland State Golf Association (MSGA) is a seasonal association, and the active season for posting scores in Maryland and Washington D.C. is March 15 to November 30. Scores from rounds played in Maryland and Washington D.C. from December 1 to March 14 are not considered acceptable scores for posting.

During Maryland and D.C.’s inactive season, when you play in a state that observes an active season, such as Florida, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, etc., that score is acceptable for posting and should be posted in accordance with the Rules of Handicapping. The authorized golf association having jurisdiction in an area is responsible for declaring the duration of any inactive season.

MSGA members still have access to post acceptable scores during Maryland’s inactive season and winter months, so the services provided by the Maryland Handicap Program (a partnership between MSGA and MAPGA) are available year-round, despite scores from rounds played in Maryland and Washington D.C. from December 1 to March 14 not being acceptable for posting.
