BROOKLANDVILLE, MD – 2014 President of the Maryland State Golf Association, Rick Collins (Baltimore CC), has officially announced his retirement from his coaching position at St. Paul’s Schools. Collins coached for 46 years and built up quite a resume in the three sports he coached. He led the Crusaders to 16 golf championships, six football championships, and five basketball championships.
This past spring marked his last season as the head golf coach, and his Crusaders won the MIAA Conference Championship and the Stroke Team Championship title. When it comes to his golfers, he has helped guide dozens of them to earn spots on teams at the collegiate level. St. Paul’s golf program also boasts the most championships won and collegiate golfers produced out of all the schools in the area.
Rick has passed the varsity golf coach position to Mike O’Neil (Baltimore CC), who is a golf alumnus of St. Paul’s (2005) that had Collins as a coach.
All of us at the MSGA would like to wish Rick a happy retirement! We thank you for everything that you have done for Maryland golf!
