With 24 participating golf courses around Maryland and Washington, DC, there are plenty of options for Youth on Course members to play a round of golf for $5 or less. One course, East Potomac Golf Links, offers the opportunity to play golf in the center of our Nation’s Capital.

Located on Hains Point Island on the Potomac River, city planners intended this historic golf course to serve as a model for other cities to create the ideal public recreation area, intertwining golf with other outdoor activities. Although the Washington Chamber of Commerce approved it to be built in 1913, because of World War I, its opening was delayed until 1921. President Warren G. Harding was one of the first players to play the course, which was an immediate hit, logging 65,345 rounds of golf in its first full year of operation.

With views of the Washington Monument, it is only a few minutes from the Jefferson Memorial and other points of interest, making it the perfect location to spend the day playing golf, visiting historical sites, or driving along Rock Creek Parkway to the National Zoo.

East Potomac Golf Links offers a Red Course and a White Course where Youth on Course members can choose to play either 9 or 18 holes for a cost of either $3 or $5 per round of golf. In addition, this location offers a driving range, practice holes, a golf shop, the Potomac Grille, food trucks during nicer weather, and even the nation’s oldest miniature golf course.

Youth on Course members can play anytime Monday through Thursday, and after 2 pm Friday through Sunday and on holidays. No carts are permitted unless accompanied by a parent. Please call for a tee time.
