The 62nd Williamson Cup will be hosted by the Metropolitan Golf Association at Knickerbocker Country Club on Aug. 10-11. Four players will represent the MSGA at this year’s competition: Jack Kelley of Congressional Country Club, David Kim of Youth on Course Maryland, Landon O’Hara of Argyle Country Club, and Ben Spencer of Congressional Country Club.
Kelley took first place in the 2025 HV3 Foundation Junior Championship and was recently named to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) 2026 Boys’ First Team All-Conference after a successful season on the Gonzaga College High School varsity golf team. The 2025-26 season at Gonzaga was a testament to Kelley’s skill, where he was a member of the winning team in both the WCAC and DCSAA Championships. Kelley played competitive golf at the 2026 Maryland Junior Amateur, leading the field after the first round and ultimately wrapping up a top-5 finish.
Kim tied for third in the 2025 1st Clubs For Kids Foundation Junior All-Star Invitational and the 2026 Will Lowery Junior Championship. Kim made his U.S. Junior Amateur debut this past July and recently tied for sixth in the 105th Maryland Open after competing as the youngest player in the field.
O’Hara took home the win at the MAPGA Billy Hurley Invitational and finished in second at the MAPGA Junior Championship, qualifying him for the Junior PGA Championship. He also competed in both the Maryland Amateur and Maryland Open after a third-place finish in qualifying. O’Hara put together a strong performance at the 2026 Maryland Junior Amateur, improving each round of the tournament and finishing in a tie for second.
Spencer’s tournament season has proven successful after clinching the Overall Boys Division at the Kingsmill Junior Invitational, alongside taking home runner-up honors in the Northern Virginia Junior Open. He also placed eleventh in the AJGA Junior at Indiana and tied for ninth at the Visit Tuscaloosa Junior Championship.
The Williamson Cup was established by A. Fred Williamson as a way of honoring his father, Fred E. Williamson, in 1964. Created as a prestigious golf tournament, the inaugural event took place at Winged Foot Golf Club and showcased teams from New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. By 1968, the Cup had earned international recognition, and teams from Canada and France started taking part.
