Lutherville, Md. – The 105th Maryland Women’s Amateur is gearing up to take place at Green Spring Valley Hunt Club in Owings Mills, Md., from July 20-22. The field is made up of 36 of Maryland’s best female amateurs looking to make their mark in history.

The championship is open to female amateurs who are members of MSGA member clubs and requires all players to have a handicap index of 10.0 or lower. The 105th Maryland Women’s Amateur Championship is an official USGA Exemption Event, which awards an exemption into the 126th U.S. Women’s Amateur set to be held at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn., from August 4-9.

Reigning champion Cameron Freund of Congressional Country Club looks to defend her title and claim consecutive victories, a feat that has not been achieved since Kaitlyn Rohrback’s back-to-back wins in 2010 and 2011. 2024 champion Helen Yeung of Cattail Creek Country Club and 2023 champion Sarah Spicer-Baldwin of Argyle Country Club are each set to make their return to the field as well, with sights set on a triumphant finish yet again.

Fresh off her victory in the 52nd Maryland Girls’ Junior Amateur, Elisha Yim of Youth on Course Maryland will look to carry that momentum into the 105th Maryland Women’s Amateur. She’ll be joined by several other former Maryland Girls’ Junior Amateur champions, including two-time winner Zoe Cusack and 2023 champion Abigail Avallone, both of Congressional Country Club, along with two-time champion Irene Kim of Turf Valley Resort.

The tournament starts on Monday, July 20, with 18 holes of stroke play. It continues with match play on Tuesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 22. The match play kicks off with the Round of 16, then proceeds through the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and finally the Championship, ending on Wednesday, July 22.
