Mary Leahy/Andrew Mlynarski Interview
St. Michaels, Md – The 2025 Maryland Mixed Two-Ball Championship was held on Wednesday, September 3, at the Links at Perry Cabin. Fifty teams, divided into championship and senior divisions, competed in a modified foursome stroke play format that included selective drives and alternate shots.
Championship Division
Fifteen mixed teams competed in the championship division, their eyes set on victory. Four strokes separated the top three on the leaderboard. The two-time defending champions from Argyle Country Club, Sarah Spicer and Cole Baldwin, played solid golf on the front nine, recording two birdies. However, the back nine proved to be more of a challenge as they would record a bogey or worse on holes 13 through 16. The defending champions ultimately finished their tournament with a score of 2-over-par 74, finishing in third place.
From Worthington Manor Golf Club, Mallory and Rob Randall were able to put together a consistent round of golf. On the front nine, the Worthington Manor duo matched their two bogeys with two birdies, and added a third birdie on the back nine, only to be canceled out by a double bogey on hole 14. The pair finished their tournament with a score of 1-over-par 73, giving them a second-place finish.
Mary Leahy of Norbeck Country Club and Andrew Mlynarski of MSGA eClub played championship-winning golf to claim victory in the 2025 Maryland Mixed Two-Ball. The champion duo played clean golf on their front nine, tallying two birdies and no bogeys. The pair began their back nine with a bogey and then a triple bogey on hole 14, erasing the front nine score they built. However, unfazed and with a championship in sight, the duo finished their tournament with three straight birdies to finish with a championship-winning score of 1-under-par 71.
“We hit the ball really well today,” Leahy said when asked how their round played out. “Both of us putted well and made some good birdies.” Mlynarski jumped in to add, “We stayed positive. In a format like this, you have to keep a smile on your face.”
“We didn’t say sorry once,” Mylnarski exclaimed. “No, that was one of our rules,” Leahy agreed. “Just play golf and see what happens.”

2025 Maryland Mixed Two-Ball – Senior Division Champions, Caroline Barbeau and Simon Hagger
Senior Division
35 teams competed in the Senior Division of the 2025 Maryland Mixed Two-Ball. Barry Falgout and Sandra Marks from Leisure World Golf Club tied for second place with Joseph and Kristin Dubinski from the United States Naval Academy Golf Club. Both duos completed their rounds with a score of 4-over-par 76. However, using the USGA-recommended procedure for breaking ties on the scorecard, the Dubinskis secured the second-place position on the leaderboard.
The team of Simon Hagger and Caroline Barbeau from Bretton Woods Recreation Center claimed a commanding victory in the senior division of the 2025 Maryland Mixed Two-Ball, finishing seven strokes ahead of their competitors. The duo recorded an impressive score of 3-under-par 69, which included one eagle and four birdies. Notably, they secured two of those birdies on the final two holes, solidifying their win in the senior division.
The Maryland State Golf Association would like to extend its gratitude to the membership and staff at the Links at Perry Cabin for their hospitality.
