The 2018 Junior Girls State Championship was played at Kenwood Golf and Country Club on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 19 and 20. The golf course was in perfect condition and was truly a championship venue. The players were divided into four age divisions with a total of 38 players completing all 36 holes. Tuesday’s opening round was hampered by a two hour weather delay, which forced play to be completed around 7:00 p.m. as the sun was setting on beautiful Kenwood Golf & CC.
The overall champion is Faith Choi. Faith shot a one-over-par 72 on day #1 and followed that up with a three-under-par 68 on day #2. Sophie Simon was a close second, losing by just 1 shot with scores of 71-70.
Three-time defending champion Aneka Seumanutafa won the 16-18 Division with scores of 70-72.
Michelle Yeung won the 9-Hole Division with scores of 44-45 and she ended her round on day #2 with a birdie on the 18th Hole.
