Men’s Net Division Leader Wesley Whalen

Results

Phoenix, Md. – Fifty-nine golfers teed up at Hunt Valley Country Club in Phoenix, Md., on Thursday, July 23, for the 2026 MSGA One Day Stableford. The tournament featured five divisions, including gross and net competitions for both men and senior men, as well as a women’s net division.

The event format was Stableford. In Stableford, players earn points based on their performance on each hole. Instead of counting total strokes, points are awarded for scores in relation to a fixed target score. For this event, players received points as follows:

  • Zero points: More than one over fixed target score or no score returned
  • One point: One over the fixed target score
  • Two points: Hitting the fixed target score
  • Three points: One under the fixed target score
  • Four points: Two under the fixed target score
  • Five points: Three under the fixed target score
  • Six points: Four under the fixed target score

For example, if a player scores one under par on a par-4 hole, they receive three points. The committee for MSGA One-Day tournaments employs the USGA-recommended method for breaking ties when a playoff is not feasible, as outlined in Committee Procedures 5A(6) of the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf.

All ties were resolved by the USGA recommended method of matching scorecards outlined in Committee Procedures 5A(6) of the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf.
