Hello! My name is Kevin Crowley Jr. and I am an Intern for the Maryland State Golf Association. I recently graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Sport and Entertainment Management. I am from Damascus, Maryland and I attended Damascus High School where I played on the varsity golf team. I enjoy the game of golf because it gives you the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and with different skill sets. I enjoy the friendships that the game of golf has given me. I am looking forward to this opportunity with the Maryland State Golf Association and being able to help this organization in anyway that I can.
Why were you interested in an internship with the MSGA?
I believe that working for the Maryland State Golf Association will help and give me the necessary tools to start a career in the golf industry. I believe that being able to have hands on experience at the MSGA events will help give me a better understanding on how to operate a golf event.
What is your favorite golf course in the area?
I have enjoyed all of the Montgomery County golf courses but my favorite course in the area is Little Bennett Golf Course. Little Bennett was where I had practice for my high school team. I have had some of my favorite memories on that golf course with some of my teammates. Also the course has a good mixture of challenging holes and holes that are not as difficult.
When did you start playing golf? Who got you into the game?
I started playing golf when I was the age of 10. My parents signed me up for a golf camp that summer and from then on I have been playing golf. That camp at Rattlewood Golf Course taught me the fundamentals of the game of golf and also showed me how enjoyable the game of golf is. Also, my uncle introduced me to the game and allows us to enjoy time with each other.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Besides playing golf, I enjoy going to Bethany Beach, Delaware to spend time with my family. I enjoy watching all of the DC sports teams and enjoy going to their games.
