(Lutherville, Md., Jan. 29, 2021) – On Monday, February 1, the Maryland State Golf Association will transition to the GHIN Suite of Products.
The Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) is a service offered by the USGA to golf associations worldwide. GHIN is one of the largest handicap management tools in the world, serving more than 2.3 million golfers and 15,000 golf clubs. Its services include the USGA Admin Portal for golfer management, score posting products for golfers and USGA Tournament Management (TM). Click the GHIN logo to read FAQs about GHIN.
Notable Items
Member data and scores were transferred from Golfnet to GHIN in December/January. Scores that are more than 2 years old may not appear, but all recent scores from 2019, 2020, and 2021 were transferred, including your most recent 20 scores.
Statistics from Golfnet profiles were not transferred to GHIN due to differences between the ways in which GHIN and Golfnet track and measure statistics.
GHIN golfer products will not allow scores to be posted during Maryland or any other state’s inactive season, and scores posted to Maryland courses from 11/15/2020 to 2/1/21 on the Golfnet system were not transferred.
The MSGA GolfLife app and msganetwork.org will be discontinued on February 1.
Club administrators will manage the club roster and run reports from USGA Admin Portal, which can be accessed from an internet browser at adminportal.usga.org.
MSGA Members will use GHIN golfer products to post scores and verify handicaps:
- GHIN app

- ghin.com

- club kiosk posting station will still be an option
- GHIN app
MSGA members need to create digital profiles to access GHIN golfer products. All members with valid email addresses saved to their profiles will receive an email that includes a link to create a GHIN profile that is specific to their GHIN #.
GHIN distributed a bulk email to create GHIN profiles on 1/28/21. If you have not received the email to create your GHIN profile by 2/1/21, please contact your club. An administrator can send or resend the profile creation email to you, and can add a unique email address to your profile, if necessary.
The process to update membership registration/renewal for the MSGA eClub is being updated, and we will notify eClub members when they can pay the eClub membership fee as a new or existing member.
