The Maryland State Golf Association will begin accepting entries Tuesday, March 6th! The Maryland Amateur Championship & Maryland Open Championship as well as all Amateur/Open qualifiers will open up for online registration starting at 9:00AM.
The MSGA has made several changes to the eligibility requirements for certain events and also added divisions to certain events; please review the entry forms carefully. Following are changes that were implemented last season and new changes for this year:
- Pro-Amateur: Amateur players and professionals no longer are required to be from the same club. (Added 2017)
- Father & Son: Professionals will be allowed to play with their sons and/or fathers. Professionals will play scratch and are part of the main event. (Added 2017)
- B/W & B/W Juniors: These two team matches have been combined and both the Baltimore team and the Washington team will be composed of six two man teams with a junior golfer on each two man team. (Added 2017)
- Senior Amateur: The Super Senior Division will now play from a shorter tee than the Overall Championship. Players 65 & older will have the option to sign up for the Overall Championship or the Super Senior Division. A set number of players from the Super Senior Division will be guaranteed to make the cut for the second day. (Added 2018)
- Mid-Amateur: A net division will be added to play only 18 holes from a forward set of tees and a maximum index of 12.0. (Added 2017)
- Maryland Amateur Championship – The final 16 players in match play will be guaranteed a prize payout via gift certificate form the club. (Added 2018)
