The Maryland State Golf Association will host the 102nd Maryland State Amateur from Thursday, June 8th to Sunday, June 11th, at Chartwell Golf & Country Club. Chartwell Golf and Country Club was founded in 1961, and Ed Ault designed the course. In 2019 Andrew Greene completed the renovation of the course by expanding greens, moving/reshaping bunkers, adding/moving tees, and replacing the fairways with zoysia grass.

The club has hosted the Maryland State Amateur twice, the last being in 2012, when Josh Eure was crowned champion. Chartwell G&CC has four members playing in this year’s championship: Blair Kennedy, Luke Lombardo, David Nocar, and Addison Wells. The most recent MSGA Championship at Chartwell G&CC was the 97th Maryland State Junior Amateur. Bryan Kim (Argyle Country Club) won his second title in a playoff.
