College Park, Md. – The University of Maryland Golf Course hosted the 66th Maryland Four-Ball tournament on Monday, August 4. Fifty teams participated in what turned out to be a highly competitive event, with only four strokes separating first place from eighth place. Prize money was awarded to the top 15 teams.

The top four teams were separated by just two strokes. Finishing in fourth place was the Turf Valley Resort duo of Nick Barrett and Eddie Milligan. They shot an impressive 10-under-par 61, which included six birdies and two eagles. Securing third place were JP Glynn from MSGA eClub and Robert Dedrich from Bulle Rock Golf Course, who also recorded a 10-under-par 61. However, the USGA scorecard tiebreaker method determined their higher placement. The Glynn-Dedrich team achieved their score of 61 by recording ten birdies.

Burt Gesner and Addison Wells from Chartwell Golf & Country Club recorded an impressive performance with nine birdies and one eagle, ultimately finishing in second place. They found their rhythm during the final four holes, where they carded three birdies and an eagle, leading to a strong finish. Their outstanding play resulted in a final score of 11-under-par 60.

Bart Mease and Benjamin Warnquist, both members of Manor Country Club, delivered an outstanding performance during their round. The duo recorded an impressive four birdies on the front nine, but it was on the back nine where they truly excelled. They added six more birdies and an eagle, finishing with a remarkable score of 12-under-par 59 to claim the 66th Maryland Four-Ball title.

The Maryland State Golf Association would like to thank the membership and staff at the University of Maryland Golf Course for hosting this year’s Maryland Four-Ball.
