A two-year point system will be used for selecting the members of the Maryland State Golf Association – Women’s Division Team for the 2017 USGA State Team Championship. The championship will be held on September 26-28, 2017 at The Club at Las Campanas in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For the purpose of team selection, the two-year period shall be defined as January 1, 2016 through August 1, 2017. The MSGA-WD Team for the 2017 USGA State Team Championship will consist of the three eligible* players accumulating the most points and one alternate in the event one of the players cannot attend the Championship. Points earned in the calendar year of the USGA State Team Championship will receive a 50% bonus to weigh outstanding play in the months preceding the Championship. Note: In the event of a tie, the committee will review other top finishes at national events.
*Eligibility:
- Must be a legal resident of the state of Maryland (Federal tax return address must be Maryland)
- Must be an amateur golfer who is a member in good standing of the MSGA (a valid handicap in Maryland)
- Must not be a member of a college golf team
Instructions for completing the application:
- Gather records of your placements in individual championships of the MSGA-WD and USGA during 2016 and 2017
- Follow the prompts to enter the number of points you earned in each championship – if no points were earned, enter 0.
- Total your points earned for each match won in match play championships.
