Leaderboard

Rockville, Md. – In association with the Middle Atlantic Golf Association, the Maryland State Golf Association conducted U.S. Open Final Qualifying at Woodmont Country Club on Monday, June 8. Four players earned spots in the 126th U.S. Open following the 36-hole qualifier.

Jackson Suber of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., captured medalist honors after posting rounds of 65 and 67 to finish at 10-under-par 132, three shots clear of the field. Suber shared low-round honors in both the morning and afternoon rounds, becoming the only player to finish double digits under par.

Suber opened his first round with four birdies in the first six holes. He would bogey the 8th hole, making the turn at three-under-par. He got back on track with birdies on the 11th, 12th, and 13th, but ran into a brief setback on the 14th hole with a bogey. He rebounded immediately with birdies on the 15th and 17th holes before a bogey on the 18th to wrap up his first round with a score of six-under-par 65.

In his second round, Suber started on hole 10 and opened his round with consecutive birdies. After a bogey on the 12th hole, he responded with another pair of birdies on the 14th and 15th holes, making the turn at three-under-par, just as he did in his first round. Suber continued his strong play with birdies on the 3rd and 4th holes before finishing his round with a bogey on the 9th hole. Suber’s second round performance of four-under-par 67 secured medalist honors and his place in the U.S. Open field.

Finishing in a tie for second at seven-under-par 135 were Ben Kohles of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Logan Reilly (a) of Lovettsville, Va.

Kohles continued his strong run of form after winning the BMW Charity Pro-Am on June 4, putting together a first round that matched that of Suber’s for a share of the low round. Kohles began his first round on hole 10 and started off steady, remaining even-par through the first five holes. He got going on the 15th hole with a birdie that was followed by a bogey on the 16th. Kohles rebounded with birdies on three straight holes. After carding an eagle on the 3rd and another birdie on the 8th, Kohles wrapped up a first-round six-under-par 65.

Kohles began his second round of qualifying on hole one. He started his second round with consecutive birdies on the 2nd and 3rd holes and remained bogey-free until the 12th hole. Kohles played the remainder of his round even-par to finish with a one-under-par 70, and seven-under-par 135 for qualifying, securing his spot in the U.S. Open.

Reilly arrived at Woodmont fresh off helping Auburn University capture the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf National Championship, including holing the championship-clinching putt. After opening his first round on the 10th hole, Reilly carded birdies on the 11th, 14th, and 15th before a bogey on the 17th to make the turn at two-under-par. Reilly ran into another bogey on the 2nd, but immediately responded with consecutive birdies on the following holes. He played the remainder of his first round bogey-free, finishing with a three-under-par 68 to conclude his first round of qualifying.

Reilly carried the momentum of his first round into his second, where he birdied four holes on the front nine against one bogey, making the turn at three-under-par. A bogey on the 10th hole was no cause for concern as he eagled the 15th, wrapping up a four-under-par 67 and improving on his first round score. Reilly finished the qualifier at seven-under-par 135 to secure his spot in the U.S. Open.

Jake Sollon of Venetia, Pa., opened his day with a birdie, starting his first round of qualifying on hole 10. A bogey on the 12th brought him back to even-par, but he quickly got back to one-under after a birdie on the 15th. Sollon played clean golf the remainder of his first round and added birdies on the 1st and 5th to finish at three-under-par 68.

In his second round of qualifying, it was more of the same for Sollon, who played steady golf through his front nine, carding a birdie on the 8th to make the turn at one-under-par. He started his back nine with a birdie to go to two-under-par. A minor setback with a bogey on the 14th was quickly countered on the 15th with a birdie. Sollon finished his second round of qualifying with a two-under-par 69 and wrapped up the qualifier at five-under-par 137, finishing in a tie for the final qualifying spot.

Sollon was met by Bryan Lee (a) of Fairfax, Va., in the playoff for the final qualifying spot. The two competitors made their way to the par-3 6th for the first playoff hole. Lee teed up first and left himself a lengthy birdie opportunity. Sollon answered by hitting his tee shot to within a foot of the hole, setting up a tap-in birdie. After Lee’s birdie attempt missed, Sollon secured the final spot in the U.S. Open field, while Lee earned first alternate status.

After surviving the 36-hole final qualifying test at Woodmont Country Club, Suber, Kohles, Reilly, and Sollon will turn their attention to the 126th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., June 18-21. More information on this year’s U.S. Open can be found HERE.
