Lutherville, Md. – The Maryland State Golf Association partners with 25 golf courses around Maryland and D.C. to provide Maryland youth golfers with affordable, accessible rounds of golf through the Youth on Course program. Pine Ridge Golf Course in Timonium, MD, offers the opportunity to play one of Baltimore City’s classic five golf courses.
The Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation (BMGC) manages Pine Ridge GC, along with the four other golf courses in the classic five: Mount Pleasant Golf Course, Clifton Park Golf Course, Forest Park Golf Course, and Carroll Park Golf Course. The BMGC was founded in 1985 to manage, operate, and develop the five municipal golf courses and has continued to do so since then.
Pine Ridge GC sits on the Loch Raven Reservoir, just about 30 minutes outside downtown Baltimore. The course was designed by Gus Hook and opened in 1959. As you navigate the course, you’ll find yourself surrounded by lush landscapes and breathtaking views of the Loch Raven Reservoir. The tranquil waters create a stunning backdrop, with scenic views of the pine trees that line the watershed.
Pine Ridge GC is not only a partnered facility with Youth on Course, but it has also hosted prestigious PGA and LPGA tournaments. It was the venue for the Eastern Open Invitational on the PGA Tour from 1959 to 1961 and the Greater Baltimore Golf Classic on the LPGA Tour from 1967 to 1980.
The course is also home to the Baltimore Golf Academy, which offers a range of golf instruction options for both adults and juniors, catering to beginners and more experienced players alike. Golf instruction includes private lessons, group clinics, and summer camps led by PGA golf professionals. Pine Ridge GC also participates in the PGA HOPE program, which offers 6 to 8-week introductory golf programs to our nation’s veterans and military at no charge.
In 2025, Pine Ridge has recorded over 1,500 rounds of golf through the Youth on Course program, and continues to be one of the most played courses among Youth on Course – Maryland facilities. The course provides daily tee times for the Youth on Course program after 2:00 PM. To schedule a tee time, please call the golf shop.
