(Grasonville, Md.) – More than 70 women participated in Monday’s MSGA Women’s Shamble at Prospect Bay Country Club. The event began with a shotgun start at 9:00 am and concluded with lunch after the round, during which prizes were awarded to the top overall teams in both the gross and net divisions. For many of the women attending, this was their first experience with tournament golf.
Gross: In the gross competition, the team of Stephanie Ordakowski, JoAnn Moreland, Ashley Stoneman, and Mary Busker topped the leaderboard. The group carded six birdies and a bogeyless round of golf to finish at 6-under-par 66. The team of Kelsey Woodall, Kellie Woodall, Sandy Patterson, and Joni Miller carded a 1-over-par 73 with a bogeyless front nine, which was good enough to secure a second-place finish in the gross division.
Net: In the net competition, it was the team of Amy Walker, Dianna Louis, Julia Muir, and Sue Emminizer taking the top spot. The group carded eight birdies and a bogeyless round to finish at 8-under-par 64. Not far behind them was the team of Caroline Gaulke, Lisa Harford, Kim Roof, and Jennifer Hillman, who carded 10 birdies and three bogeys for a score of 7-under-par 65. Due to a tiebreaker, the team secured the second spot in the net division.
Thank you to Prospect Bay Country Club for hosting, and thanks to all the ladies who played!
