Bel Air, Md. – The 56th Women’s Senior Amateur and the 17th Women’s Mid-Amateur Championships took place at Winters Run Golf Club, where Mia Zanghetti and Bev Lane emerged as the day’s top performers. Zanghetti put together an impressive round, finishing 2-under-par with a 70 to win the Mid-Amateur Championship, while Lane secured the Senior Amateur title with a 1-over-par 73, highlighted by five birdies.

Mia Zanghetti started strong, particularly on the front nine. She recorded three birdies on all the par-4s, setting the pace for her round. Her consistent play kept her in control, and she maintained that momentum through the back nine to finish 2-under-par, a score that ultimately earned her the crown.

Bev Lane began her round well but ran into some trouble on the 10th hole, where she carded a double bogey with a 6. However, Lane didn’t let that setback define her round. She rallied with an impressive comeback, making four birdies on the back nine, including key birdies on Nos. 17 and 18. Her ability to bounce back was crucial, and despite the earlier stumble, her 1-over-par 73 was enough to clinch the title.

The Maryland State Golf Association would like to extend its gratitude to Winters Run Golf Club for hosting the event and providing excellent course conditions. The hospitality helped make the day a success.
