The 13th Mid-Atlantic Junior Invitational was held at Olde Mill Resort in Laurel Fork, Virginia with the host team winning its eighth title in a row.
Wind gusts of up to 20 mph, made Saturday’s playing conditions especially tough. Aaron Williams (2022/Woodholme) fired a 5-over-par, 77 with an eagle and two birdies. The other player to break 80 was Jai Sheth (2022/Rolling Road), who carded a 7-over-par, 79. After Round One, Virginia’s Michael Lee led in individual play.
Round Two featured much better weather and as a result lower scores. Maryland mounted a strong comeback but came up four strokes
short of runner-up and finished third for the event. Williams’ round of even-par, 72 was good enough for a runner-up finish in individual play.
