The Maryland State Junior Girls Championship was held at Blue Mash Golf Club on August 11-12, 2020. The girls endured hot and humid conditions during both rounds and their second round was briefly interrupted with a nearby thunderstorm.
Bailey Davis, from the National Golf Club at Tantallon, finished with a three-under-par 69-72–141 to secure her victory in the Maryland State Junior Girls Championship. In Davis’ opening round of 69, she had three birdies and an eagle on the 439 yard, par-5 fifth hole. This marks Davis’ first Maryland State Junior Girls state title, but she finished as the runner-up in this event in both 2017 and 2019. Earlier this summer, Davis finished third in the prestigious North & South Junior Championship at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club. The rising high school senior has verbally committed to play golf for the University of Tennessee. The runner-up was Elizabeth Coffren with a 74-71–145. The recent high school grad will be playing collegiate golf for the University of Delaware.
