Update: As of October 15, 2019 the MSGA raised $7,391.

On September 30th, participants nationwide were challenged with completing 100 holes of golf (walking) to raise money and awareness for Youth on Course, a non-profit organization providing youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. In Maryland, Sparrows Point Country Club generously hosted the event, allowing full use of the golf course from sunup to sundown. The hikers had the luxury of playing the 27-hole course for their 5+ rounds of golf, which kept the course interesting. Five hikers took on the daunting task – Matt Cougle, Dave Dustin, Kim Ferguson, James Hewatt, and Rhianna Stitt. Each of the hikers completed the challenge and together raised upwards of $7,200. The funds raised will directly benefit the MSGA’s 500+ Youth on Course members, guaranteeing that they will pay $5 or less to play over 1,200 courses nationwide.

The five hikers walked close to 30 miles in under 12 hours and finished with a little daylight to spare. MSGA staff, Board members, and spectators encouraged the hikers throughout the day, keeping them hydrated and motivated.

Donations can be made through October 15, 2019, by visiting the Hundred Hole Hike Crowdrise page. Simply click the donate button, select a team member, and complete the form. All donations are tax deductible and all donors will receive recognition on the MSGA website.
