Edgewater, Md. — A competitive and fun-filled day unfolded at The Golf Club at South River on June 9th, for the latest installment of the MSGA One Day Four-Ball, where teams battled it out across multiple divisions under cool skies.

Men’s Back Tee Division

Gross Champions
Will Wears (Baltimore Country Club) and Nicholas Koziol (Pine Ridge GC) put together a stellar round of 5-under 66 to take the top spot. Their round was sparked by a huge eagle from Will on the par-5 4th, which set the tone early.

Net Champions
The team of Brandon Flanders and Lee Moffett posted a balanced and impressive 8-under 63, going 4-under on both the front and back nines to secure the Net title.

Men’s Forward Tee Division

Gross Champions
Dan Hake (LPGA International) and Karl Warner (SGCTOUR) earned the win with a 1-over-par 72, highlighted by a clutch birdie from Karl on the 18th hole to seal the victory.

Net Champions
Kip and Scott Seyfferth of Crofton Country Club shot 4-under 67, edging out two other teams by just a stroke to take home the Net crown.

Mixed Division & Women’s Division

Gross Champions
Michelle Proser (LPGA Amateur Golf Association) and Willy Bhatia (Hobbit’s Glen GC) got the job done with a 2-under 69, with three birdies coming from Willy during their round.

Net Champions
Cathy Ayoob (Census GC) and Deborah Andrew (The Preserve at Eisenhower Golf Course) dominated the field with a 6-under 65, thanks to strong play and numerous birdies from both teammates.

The format for the teams was Four-Ball stroke play, often referred to as better ball. In Four-Ball, Competitors play as partners, each playing their own ball. The lower score for the partners is the score for the hole. If a player is confident that their score will not count on a particular hole, they are not required to finish the hole, but one team member must hole out. The committee for MSGA One-Day tournaments uses the USGA recommended method for breaking ties when a playoff is not feasible, as outlined in Committee Procedures 5A(6) of the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf.

Congrats to all of our winners and thank you to The Golf Club at South River for hosting a fantastic day of golf!
